Joe Johnson, Eufaula mayor for 23 years (1975 1998), posted on-line his appreciation for the service of Todd Warren, who was replaced as mayor last week by the City Council.
The post reads: With the changes of leadership at City Hall, a shout out to Mayor Todd Warren for doing a great job during his tenure. He will continue to benefit the city as a Councilman.
Todd comes from a long line of public servants. His daddy Ike Warren served in several different capacities in McIntosh County government, including Justice of the Peace and county clerk.
His uncle Marshall was a well-respected district attorney.
A lot was accomplished during Todd’s years, including a major water line replacement public works project, and the new city hall just to name a few.
Also, several new businesses, adding to the city’s sales tax base, were brought in.
Those things don’t just happen, it takes hard work.
He did this while having to work with at least three different city managers.
It’s not unusual for the mayor’s position to rotate within the five council persons occasionally in this mayormanager form of government. I’m sure the new Mayor James Hickman will be glad to have Todd’s help during the transition as Eufaula continues to grow and progress.
Todd was also the public works director and has a wealth of knowledge as a longtime city employee in that area.
If you see the former mayor tell him – Thanks.
