OKLAHOMA CITY– The Oklahoma Scholarship Competition is now open for registration, allowing high school students across the state the chance to earn money for college. More than $770,000 in cash scholarships and tuition grants are available.
Through the Oklahoma Scholarship Competition, students in grades 9 through 12 test their knowledge on Oklahoma history, geography and its people.
The competition consists of a one-hour, online exam administered in March. Students compete in the county in which they attend high school, and top scorers are awarded either a cash scholarship or tuition grant to an accredited Oklahoma college or university.
In 2024, 92 students received scholarships.
Interested students must pre-register on the Oklahoma Hall of Fame website before Friday, Feb. 28. A full list of requirements and available scholarships can be found online.
Scholarship recipients will be invited to attend the Scholarship Awards Assembly on Wednesday, April 23 at the Gaylord-Pickens Museum.
