University of Tulsa announced Sunday morning it had officially parted ways with Kevin Wilson. Wide receivers coach and recruiting coordinator Ryan Switzer will serve as interim coach for TU’s final game against Florida Atlantic.
The move came after a 63-30 loss to the University of South Florida. Wilson led Tulsa to 7 wins and 16 losses in two years.
Prior to joining Tulsa, Wilson was the offensive coordinator for the Ohio State Buckeyes for six seasons. He was also previously the offensive coordinator at the University of Oklahoma, where his high-powered offense scored a then-NCAA record 716 points during the 2008 season. He left OU to become the head coach at Indiana, compiling a record of 26 wins and 47 losses over six seasons.
The Golden Hurricane program hasn’t won more than seven games in a season since 2016.
