The Sooners’ cooffensive coordinator and primary play caller, OU has relieved Seth Littrell of his duties on Sunday evening.
“Seth is an all-time great Sooner,” Oklahoma head coach Brent Venables said in a statement. “He has a deep love for this university and football program, and has poured his heart and soul into both. Despite that, our performance as an offense this season has not at all lived up to the OU standard and I felt a change was necessary now.”
The Sooners will now turn to co-offensive coordinator and tight ends coach Joe Jon Finley to call plays for the remainder of the season with analyst Kevin Johns getting promoted to the other co-offensive coordinator spot and quarterbacks coach.
Finley, a former player at Oklahoma, came to the staff in 2021 as an offensive assistant coaching tight ends and h-backs.
Johns, meanwhile, is in his first season in Norman after serving as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Duke the previous two years.
