Want to learn more about public land hunting while also sharpening your small game skills?
The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation is partnering with Quail Forever to host an open house from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday Oct. 12, at Kaw Wildlife Management Area with an optional mentored small game hunt in the afternoon. Space is limited to 50 attendees.
Participants will have the option to shoot clay targets at the WMA’s newly built shooting range, learn about how to hunt Oklahoma’s public land, explore Kaw WMA and attend a small game workshop.
Bring your family and stay for a weekend hunting or fishing and camp at any of the 250+ campsites. There is free primitive camping in designated areas on Kaw WMA for anyone holding a valid hunting or fishing license, no reservation needed. Register at Oklahoma Department of Wildlife.
