A convoy of historic military vehicles will be stopping in Checotah, Thursday, Oct. 17 around 9:45 a.m. at 207 N. Broadway Members of the Military Vehicle Preservation Association-HA are convoying 2,500 miles on the Jefferson Highway, from Pines to Palms.
The City of Checotah hopes the community will come out to welcome them. There will be a sign unveiling at the original City Hall building then the convoy will be parking in Sharpe’s parking lot for only a short time.
“We are hoping for a huge welcome for them from Checotah,” Jefferson Highway Oklahoma Chapter President, Delaina Stevens said. “It’s a big deal for them to be stopping in Checotah as we are only one out of eight planned stops. Please plan to be a little early to not miss them since they will only be able to stop for approximately 15 minutes due to such tight scheduling.”
