The Checotah Lady Wildcats improved to 21-10 as head coach Levi Walker saw his team pick up a pair of victories on Saturday by topping Union 4-1 and Stilwell 4-1.
The Lady Wildcats started off fast as Shaelynn Casey sent a pitch deep to center field for a homerun in the first inning, scoring two runs and a passed ball that resulted in a run scored.
Casey earned the win from the pitchers circle as she allowed five hits and one run over four innings, striking out four and walking none.
Casey went l-for-3 while Makyah Black, Kami Hamm and Aurora Madewell each collected two hits for Checotah.
Shyanne Madewell stole two bases in the game and the Lady Wildcats committed zero errors.
“I thought our team carried the momentum from the first game into this one. We had some confidence and energy and it showed today. I’m really proud of our effort today,” Checotah head coach Levi Walker said.
In game two, Checotah defeated Stilwell 4-1. Shaelynn Casey was on fire at the plate as she singled in the first inning, scoring a pair of runs. The runs didn’t stop there as Sydnie West connected on a pitch for a double in the third inning that scored a pair of runs.
Casey earned the win for Checotah as she surrendered three hits and one run over four innings, striking out five and walking three. Hailey Prince came in relief of Casey.
Casey was perfect at the plate going 2-for-2 with two RBIs and West was l-for-2 with two RBIs.
