The Checotah Wildcats (2-1) demolished the Dewey Bulldoggers 5313 Friday night at Dewey. Checotah head coach Zac Ross put together a well-balanced offensive attack as the Wildcats accumulated 544 total offensive yards, with 266 rushing and 278 yards passing.
“It was fun to watch the kids play hard and physically. We had a lot of kids contribute Friday night for a solid team win. I’m very proud of each and every one of them,” Checotah head coach Zac Ross said.
University of Oklahoma commit Elijah Thomas had his best game of the season with four receptions for 162 yards including a 66yard touchdown and a 71-yard touchdown. He also rushed the football on three carries for 25 yards and a touchdown.
Freshman quarterback Cole Roland finished with 11-of-21 for 278 yards and four touchdowns, one interception and ran the ball for 14 yards and a touchdown.

His most impressive catch and score came on a 4th and goal on Dewey’s 29-yard line where he was able to hit pay dirt to add to his third touchdown on the evening.
Dewey failed to have any answer to stop the Wildcats offensive explosion. Senior Brian Love caught two passes for 36 yards and was able to score in the first quarter on a 23-yard completion in the corner of the end zone.
Roland could pick and choose his targets all night as he found the other tight end Elijah Mohammad for 49 yards on two receptions.
The Checotah defense was spectacular as they had their way with the Bulldogers. The defensive line manhandled the offensive line of Dewey and put pressure on the quarterback throughout the game.
The linebacker play was terrific for Checotah as Preston Cannon, Jayden Casey, Dylan Roberts and crew dominated their opposition.
The Wildcats will host Locust Grove at Ray Grandstaff Stadium for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.
