Bulah Faye Powell, 82, of Eufaula, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, Sept. 15, 2024, at the Clare House of Tulsa. Bulah was born on March 27, 1942, in Bower, Oklahoma the daughter of Clarence and Elizia (Baker) Grider. She attended school in Bower, Oklahoma and Deming, New Mexico.
She married Lloyd Powell on Dec. 29, 1958. They were married 43 years when he preceded her in death on June 28, 2001.
Bulah loved going to the casino. She also enjoyed working in her yard, mowing and planting flowers. She was a great cook. Bulah’s greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include: her daughter, Karen Hoover of Eufaula; sonin -aw, Chovo Contreas of Mexia, Texas; brother, Thomas Grider and wife Patti of Van Buren, Ark.; sister Rosetta of Deming, N. M.; five grandchildren, Chris Funburg, Steven Sisk, Eddie Contreas, Whitney Thomas, and Monica Contreas; great- grandchildren Kathen Funburg, Kameron Funburg, Cashlynn Ward and Kyan Ward and two great-great-grandchildren Kori Funburg and Milam Funburg.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughters, Darlene Sisk and Jackie Contreas; sisters, Bonnie, Mable, JoAnn, Josie Mae and Peggy; and brothers, James and Jimmy.
A funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024, at the Bower Cemetery with Pastor Jeremy Little officiating.
Services are under the direction of Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home & Crematory.
