I think we all feel sometimes that we have lost something along the way. Life can come at you from all sides and all we can do is survive. Joy gets put off or lost and it is very hard to get it back. Here are some steps to help you find what you have lost.
1) Live each day by GRACE! – Don’t allow yourself to be trapped into legalism that steals your joy. Don’t let yourself be consumed trying to follow rules or rituals to please God or people. You cannot do enough good things to make God love you. All the effort and works that you can do will not save you. God tells us in Ephesians 2:8-9 – For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith— and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.
2) Keep your priorities in PERSPECTIVE – Paul understood that there was nothing too precious to give up or give away. Paul wanted us to keep things in perspective. To not allow something worthless to keep us from something priceless!
3) Grow in your KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE of God – “I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead. “Ephesians 3:10-11. The Goal of life is not to accumulate things, but to grow in understanding of God.
God wants you to experience a joy that transforms your life. To find it, you have to seek God in prayer, worship and trust. I hope that you will find that God offers joy that cannot be taken away.
