As Teenagers we have all said to our Parents, “You just don’t understand!”
Teenagers tend to be blissfully unaware that their parents were once young. It is almost as if their parents were hatched fully grown and ready to take care of them.
Sometimes when we consider our problems in relation to God, we share a similar attitude. We think that God just doesn’t understand us.
The Bible tells us differently. Philippians 2:5-8 tells us, “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death — even death on a cross!”
What this tells us is that God lived with us and lived like us. Not as a King, but as a commoner.
He understands our lives and our pain, because He lived it with us. Therefore, God does not have a theoretical understand of humanity, but a practical one. He understands because He experienced it.
When I come to God, I know that He understands and that He cares.
I know that I am not alone and that I am not forgotten. If Jesus would die for me, I know that He lives for me as well.
My confidence comes from knowing Jesus personally. I would love to make Christ known to you and your family.
