Checotah head coach Zac Ross was very pleased with the number of student athletes that are participating in the Summer Pride workout program.
“We average around 40 high school kids every day plus around 20 or more junior high and middle school kids in our second session that coach Oleson coaches,” Ross said.
The Wildcats have lost some key players to graduation but have a very talented group of 17 freshmen coming up that should compete for key positions.
Checotah has a stable of very capable running backs returning along with Oklahoma commit Elijah Thomas. New this year to the Checotah’s Summer Pride program is the addition of junior high and middle school boys and girls.
“We take a lot of pride in our future athletes and they like coming here and working out with their friends. This is a great group of kids that are eager to listen and learn what it takes to be better,” Checotah coach Brett Oleson said.
Summer Pride goes Tuesday through Thursday will increase days in July.
