Unfinished buildings…

Q and A with Pastor J.

Jesus told stories a lot. He knew that a good story made a picture in the mind that would stick with you.

He told this story in Luke 14:28-30, “Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it? For if you lay the foundation and are not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule you, saying, ‘This person began to build and wasn’t able to finish.’

In Luke 14 Jesus’ compares our decision to follow Him to building a tower. It was something we must take seriously and not enter into lightly. The world is filled with unfinished towers. It is also filled with people that wanted to follow Jesus but were not willing to place Him first.

Jesus calls us to an exclusive relationship. Every other relationship has to come second. This is not just hard, but it is the only way. I will leave you with this thought. Is Jesus the preeminent relationship in your life?

We would love to meet you at First Baptist Church. We are genuine and relevant, and we want to make a difference.
