Lots of activities at state park
Eufaula VFW Post 8798 will hold a flag ceremony on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, at 11 a.m. at the post headquarters.
Over Memorial Day Weekend the post will place flags at the cemetery.
Memorial Day Weekend is the unofficial kickoff to summer.
The Oklahoma Department of Tourism and Recreation invites everyone to come to state parks to join in various activities.
At Eufaula State Park on SH 150, 14 miles southwest of Eufaula all will take place at the Nature Center, including:
– Thursday, May 23
12 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.: Craft activities for handprint turkeys and frogs will be available 1 p.m.: Dive into the microscopic world of nature with our microscope samples activity.
– Friday, May 24
10 a.m.: Meet at the Visitor Center for a scenic hike of Savannah Loop 1 p.m.: Test your knowledge on pollinators with our pollinator trivia 2:30 p.m.: Learn to cast animal tracks
– Saturday, May 25
10 a.m.: Hike the Crazy Snake Trail, A 1/4 mile ADA-compliant hike, starting at the Nature Center 11 a.m.: Wildlife bingo 12 p.m.: Craft seedballs 1 p.m.: Learn to cast animal tracks 2 p.m.: Join our program on invasive species
– Sunday, May 26
12:30 p.m.: Craft fishing lures (hook not provided).
2:30 p.m.: Craft seedballs
– Monday, May 27
10 a.m.: Join our program on bald eagles 11 a.m.: Dive into the microscopic world of nature with our microscope samples activity 2:30 p.m.: Craft a butterfly
