Ever wondered why some of Eufaula’s annual events became so popular? Or how the Golden Eagle Poker Run really works to make it such a yearly highlight? Why Heritage Days and Whole Hawg days are such can’t-miss occasions?
You can find out at 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 17, at the Friends of Eufaula Memorial Library Friends’ luncheon when Rhonda Adams, executive director of Lake Eufaula Association, will be the guest speaker, talking about interesting happenings in this area.
A 26-year resident of Eufaula, Adams is the mother of two sets of twins, and four of her six children are Eufaula High School graduates. Does she love this community? Yes!
Her fervor for promoting the area is obvious on the Lake Eufaula Association website, visitlakeeufaula. com.
Go there not only for links to lodging, dining, activities, camping, and fishing, but for a business directory to find anything from casinos and parks to museums and historical sites.
The site’s calendar lists both golf and fishing events, plus locations where Fourth of July fireworks will be happening. Adams is well-versed on them all.
NEW LOCATION FOR THIS LUNCHEON
The $6 luncheon sponsored by the Friends of Eufaula Memorial Library is open to the public—no reservation required.
The usual location for the Friends’ monthly luncheon is the Follansbee Room in the library, but this one will be at the Methodist Church fellowship hall, 251 Matthew Lane, between the cemetery and Love’s off Main Street going north toward I-69.
All attending will have an opportunity to join the Friends if they would like to help support the library. The yearly membership fee is $5.
