Spring sports and weekly papers

Spring sports is a busy time for all schools as student athletes are hitting the baseball/ softball diamonds, out running track, teeing off at the golf courses and preparing for state.

Behind the scenes, you will find me blazing a trail up the highway for the boys and girls team in each sport from each school.

As we deadline on a Monday, I am normally flying back to the office to pour through the hundreds of photos between the schools trying to make sure to get something in for that paper before the bigger story the next week.

All at the same time, these students that I have covered for their whole careers, are being recruited and signing letters of intent for the next chapter in their careers.

I cannot express how much the phone calls, letters and texts mean as all of you coaches, teachers and parents reach out in support as we strive to cover each of these events and keep your weekly newspaper plugging ahead. It takes a village.

For all of you parents who are also blazing the roads to get your kids to that next event during the year, my hat’s off to you. It will all too soon be over and we will be missing these days.
