With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Incumbents in school board races in Eufaula and Checotah handily won re-election, according to unofficial returns announced by the Oklahoma State Election Board.
In Eufaula, long-time school board member Jeff Pippenger, representing Office No. 4, received 337 votes (66.47 percent) to challenger Meagan Beaver’s 170 votes.
Pippenger, president of the board, has served 15 years.
Former Board Member Kenny Bumgargner, who resigned from Office No. 5 in 2021 because he moved from the district, ran for the unexpired term in Office No. 2 and defeated opponent Jessica Whisenhunt 290 (56.75 percent) to 221 (43.25 percent).
In Checotah, Office No. 4 incumbent Jackie Farmer received 324 votes (79,22 percent) to Denver Killingsworth’s 85 (20.78 percent).
In the race for Office No. 4 in the Indian Capital Tech Center, Checotah School Superintendent Monte Madewill received 292 votes (69.19 percent) to David West’s 130 (30.81 percent).
The Dewar Public School voters in Okmulgee approved a bond issue for major construction projects, 68 (71.58 percent). No votes totaled 27 (28.42 percent).
A few voters in the school district live in McIntosh County.
Two of the voters in McIntosh County voted no, for 100 percent of the votes cast.
