There will be only one race in the county’s June 18 Primary Election – which is for the office of District No. 2 County Commissioner.

As of the close of the filing period on April 5, three Republicans had filed – including incumbent Monty D. Grider, 67, and challengers Clifford McElaney, 51, and Kevin Drake, 52.

Running unopposed for their respective offices are Republicans Court Clerk Lisa Rodebush, 53; County Sheriff Kevin Ledbetter, 54; and County Clerk Deena Farrow, 48.

If necessary a runoff primary will be held on Aug. 27.
