The Hilldale Hornets dominated the Checotah Wildcats 20-1 and 10-0 in a double header on Tuesday at Checotah. This is the Wildcats’ seventh consecutive loss after defeating Eufaula 9-8 before spring break, and now has been outscored 77-7. Hilldale scored 11 runs in the fourth inning to go up 16-1. A pivotal point came in the same inning when Cole Leach smoked a pitch, scoring three runs. Chad Parks earned the win for the Hornets while his counterpart, Charles Collins was tagged with the loss. Leach was 2-for-3 for Hilldale, while Mason Rainbolt led the Wildcats with one RBI and has become a solid hitter for Checotah as is Lane Elliot who had one hit.
In game two the wows continued at the plate as Leach struck-out 12 batters while only allowing three hits.
The Hornets (131, 6-0 District 4A-5) scored seven runs in the fifth inning. Nathanfrom iel Cannon and Brayson Parker had two hits each while Leach drove in three runs in leading Hilldale. Jacob Jones, who was the losing pitcher, Jonah Marshall and Bryce Marshall all collected one hit for Checotah (3-12, 0-7).
The Wildcats fell to North Rock Creek on Friday 8-0. Mason Rainbolt took the loss for the Wildcats. He went nearly three innings, surrendering seven runs on three hits, striking out one and walking five. Charles Collins led Checotah at the plate going 1-for-2.
