The last Memorial bricks have been laid at Eufaula Memorial Library to honor all those from McIntosh County who were killed in the line of duty. These bricks had to be special ordered since they were not among the original bricks that had been in storage. Checotah resident Army Sgt. James E. Dutton died March 31, 2012, in Afghanistan. Checotah resident Army Spc. Sarina Butcher was killed Nov. 1, 2011, also in Afghanistan. The letters on the top brick “OEF/OIF” stand for Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom.
