Twenty-one years ago this coming Good Friday was the first Gospel Singing here at the Plumb. A huge storm blew in, we had to leave the front door open and the vehicles shining their lights through the door was only light.
No one left the theatre and we had the first Good Friday singing. Paul played rhythm guitar and The Jeweltones and others sang. The Glory came down just like it still does today.
We’ve had 21 years of some of the best Gospel songs and best Gospel singers in this part of the country. One of them, Mary Sue Blaylock, sang “Ain’t No Grave” with more feeling than you can imagine. I can’t hold a candle to her, but I will be carrying on the tradition this Friday night.
This Saturday night will be our tribute to some of the most famous, popular and biggest country songs of this era. Don’t look now, but there will be some delicious Ice Cream flavors available.
We are beginning to book some of our outstanding musical groups for the Theatre and our Gospel Fest. No time to slow down, we must work til Jesus comes.
Live music to wake the soul and warm the heart. Remember it’s not a show without y’all.
Doors open at 6 p.m., show at 7 p.m.
