Pre-eclipse party at library, April 5
Branch Manager, Eufaula Memorial Library The Eufaula Memorial Library hosts a Pre-Eclipse Party on Friday, April 5 at 3:30 p.m. All ages can join us for a craft using peril beads and UV lights. You can also pick up glasses for the eclipse starting Monday, April 1, at the library while supplies last.
National Library Week begins on Sunday, April 7, and ends on Saturday, April 13. It is an annual celebration highlighting the valuable role libraries, librarians, and library workers play in strengthening our communities. The theme for National Library Week for 2024 is “Ready, Set, Library!”
Days of note during that week are as follows:
• Monday, April 8: Right to Read Day—the library will have a book scavenger hunt from 3:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. for adults.
• Tuesday, April 9: National Library Workers Day—the library will have thank you cards for patrons to write a note to a library worker or the staff at Eufaula Memorial Library.
• Wednesday, April 10: National Library Outreach Day—poetry reading by a librarian, and crafts for all ages at Posie Park.
• Thursday, April 11: Take Action for Libraries Day—leave your mark in the library from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Friends of Eufaula Memorial Library (FEML) is looking for new members to join and continue to help build the library. Their next monthly program luncheon is at 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 19. Contact President Gail Rose at member.FEML@gmail.com to join.
