Traffic stop leads to marijuana bust

Luo Min, 41, Norman, was stopped on I-40 near Checotah last week and 40 pounds of marijuana was found in his van, according to court records.

He has been charged with trafficking in illegal drugs.

Associate District Judge Brendon Bridges entered a not guilty plea on behalf of the suspect and set bond at $30,000.

Min was ordered back to court at 9 a.m. April 17, for a pre-preliminary hearing conference.

McIntosh County Deputy Sheriff Christian Degraffenreid reports that he stopped Min at about 6 a.m., on March 5 traveling east on the interstate.

In a probable cause affidavit, Degraffenreid said he observed Min “swaying in the lane” several times and pulled him over.

The deputy reported the heavy smell of marijuana but Min denied having any in his vehicle, according to the affidavit.

Eventually, Min admitted to having 40 pounds of marijuana that he was delivering to someone in Arkansas. He declined to identify the person who was to receive the shipment, Degraffenreid said.
