Picking up trash around Eufaula recently was so successful the Eufaula Area Chamber of Commerce decided to make it a quarterly event.
Chamber Executive Director Serina Kleveter said more than 60 bags of trash were picked up by more than a dozen volunteers from 8 a.m.
to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5.
The next event is scheduled for May 7, also from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m..
The cleanup is a result of a meet-and-greet by the Chamber with realtors and mortgage companies.
“Everyone wanted to know what they could do to help the community,” Kleveter said.
Though the first event consisted mostly of realtors and mortgage companies, she said anyone can participate.
“We are making a difference in keeping our town clean. Let’s keep up the good work!” Kleveter said.
