Q and A with Pastor J.
The central tenet of the Christian faith is the resurrection of Christ. It is a testimony of God’s infinite power. If God is real (and I believe that He is) and He is the creator of all things, He has power over death. If He does not, he is not worthy of our worship. Because of God’s wonderous power we understand what Paul said in 1 Corinthians 15:55, “y“O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”
Christianity alone presents Jesus as one who transcends death and who promises that His followers will do the same. All other religions were founded by men and prophets whose end was the grave. As Christians, we take comfort in the fact that our God became man, died for our sins, and was resurrected the third day. The grave could not hold Him. He lives, and He sits today at the right hand of God the Father in heaven and will one day return.
All we must do is put our faith in the Risen Christ and follow Him.
Romans 10:9 explains it simply – “ If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
I pray that you will receive Christ as your Savior in your heart and mind today.
