The College Football World was hit in the face with the news of Nick Saban announcing his retirement from coaching. Saban won seven national championships. His name will forever be linked to Bear Bryant, Joe Paterno, Bud Wilkinson and Barry Switzer.
To win just one national championship is a feat in itself, just ask Bob Stoops. Saban compiled a career college record of 292-71-1. He has developed and sent more football players into the NFL in the modern era. Sure, we will miss his arrogant and sly addresses to the media or how he feels about the NIL and Transfer Portal. In fact, I believe that’s exactly why he’s leaving. College football is no more. Sure games are played but it’s not like the college football we knew as kids. Until the NIL and Transfer portal gets figured out we’re going see more and more of these coaches leave the business of coaching.
