Joey Archer, 58, Checotah, has been charged with domestic abuse – assault and battery; disrupting/preventing/ interrupting emergency telephone call; and obstructing an officer.
On Jan. 1 Deputy Chad Breazeale was sent to a residence behind the Texanna Fire Department to check on a report that a victim was being beaten and sexually assaulted.
The victim said she and the defendant were in a consensual relationship.
Joey Archer was not at the scene when Brezeale arrived.
Archer later was found on Jan. 3 at Henryetta Hillcrest Hospital where he claimed to
be a victim of domestic violence.
The defendant appeared by video at the McIntosh County Courthouse where the court entered a not guilty plea on behalf of Archer.
Bond was set at $15,000 He was ordered to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Jan. 30.
