Suspect arrested in turkey shooting

A 53-year-old Tahlequah man has been charged in Pittsburg County District Court with illegal possession of a wild turkey.

Douglas Allen Brank is scheduled to make an initial court appearance n the allegation at 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28.

According to the Wildlife Department, Game Wardens Shane Fields and Matt Penwright, both of Pittsburg County, arrested Brank following an investigation that resulted from the discovery of two wild turkey carcasses in a storage box near Carlton Landing on Lake Eufaula.

The birds had been shot with a .22 magnum pistol.
