Q and A with Pastor J.
There are seasons in every life when we feel like we are alone in the world. We can easily slip into a dark time of loneliness and isolation. Where is God in that time? Where has he moved to? In fact, God has not moved at all, but we have. We are tugged by our emotions and feelings, and they drag us into doubt and cynicism. We move out on our own and we leave God behind. When we do that eventually we will all feel isolated and alone.
There are times that I feel that God is sitting next to me and times that He seems far away. So, what do I believe? Do I believe my feelings that waver and change? Do I believe God and His word? It is a decision that will affect every part of your life. Do I live by what I feel, or do I live by what God has said.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart” Jeremiah 29:11-12 God has given us hope and a future. We must seize it and not rob ourselves of His presence. God has done everything necessary to reach out to you. All you have to do is respond. My prayer for my Church and community is that people will seek God and find Him.
