Personalized programs and resources foster meaningful careers in Oklahoma
OKLAHOMA CITY – In observance of Veterans Day this pst weekend, the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission (OESC) is sharing information regarding employment opportunities and resources for veterans in Oklahoma.
Through a wide range of employment services, OESC offers personalized assistance and resources to help transitioning service members and veterans thrive in today’s job market.
“We’re honored to stand by our veterans and provide them with the support they need to successfully pursue meaningful employment opportunities in Oklahoma. We remain committed to empowering our veterans with individual assistance, essential resources and direct connections to employers,” said Jeff Fryer, director of communications at OESC. “We encourage all eligible veterans to explore the resources available through OESC and take advantage of the opportunities that await them in Oklahoma.”
Veterans Employment Services
Through the Jobs for Veterans State Grant (JVSG), OESC is enabled to deliver tailored career services to eligible veterans and military spouses. OESC’s Veterans Employment Services team provides individualized services to help veterans overcome barriers to employment and advocates for the hiring of veterans by strategically connecting veterans directly to hiring managers. The Veterans Employment Services team is composed solely of veterans with real-world experience in transitioning from the military to the civilian workforce. With a unique understanding of the challenges veterans face, the team at OESC is dedicated to helping veterans access the full array of resources and services available to support their success in the 21st-century workforce.
Veteran Job Clubs
Across the state, OESC’s Veteran Employment Services team organizes monthly veteran job clubs, which allow military personnel and veterans to meet with and engage in one-on-one conversations with multiple employers who are ready to hire. Participants are encouraged to arrive with copies of their resume and dress professionally. Dates for upcoming job clubs can be found on the OESC events calendar by selecting the “Veterans – Military Career Fair” category.
Veterans seeking assistance or employers wanting to hire veterans are encouraged to reach out to their nearest OESC office and connect with a member of the Veterans Employment Services team.
