The Checotah Lady Wildcats (14-16) saw their season come to an end in regional play at Hilldale. Checotah lost 12-2 in game one against the Oologah Lady Mustangs. Oolagah rallied in the fifth inning scoring four runs to take a 9-2 lead.
Checotah struggled at the plate as a team. Shaelynn Casey and Layna Vandiver each went 2-for-3 at the plate.
Hailey Prince took the loss for Checotah from the pitcher’s circle. Prince surrendered nine runs on 11 hits over five innings, striking out one. Checotah tallied seven hits in the game. Oolagah finished with 16 hits in the contest.
In game two the Lady Wildcats shut out Holland Hall 13-0. Checotah came out on fire as they quickly scored seven runs in the first inning.
Prince led Checotah at the plate going 1-for-2 with a pair of RBIs. Shaelynn Casey earned the win for Checotah in the pitcher’s circle. Checotah scored 13 runs and eight RBIs in the contest.
The Lady Wildcats saw their season come to an end as Hilldale edged Checotah 3-1. It was a defensive battle as both pitchers held each team scoreless until the fifth inning. The game was tied at one apiece when the Lady Hornets scored on an error to take the lead.
Hailey Prince took the loss for the Wildcats. She allowed five hits and three runs over six innings, striking out three.
Kami Hamm led Checotah at the plate going 2-for-3. Maci Britt, Layna Vandiver and Katie Anderson each went 1-for-3.
