Checotah Cross-Country team competes at Inola

The Checotah Wildcats’ Cross-Country junior high and high school teams competed at the Inola Cross-Country meet last week.

In the Junior High Division Jacob Stith placed 13th and Decarlo Noriega placed 19th. In the high school division Ruby Folkner placed ninth overall and Izayah Tayde placed 19th. The girls placed 7th overall as a team and the boys finished 5th as a team.

“I’m so proud of these kids and how they competed today. They went up against some great athletes from a lot of bigger schools and held their own. We’re going to enjoy today and get ready for the next meet,” Checotah head coach Jason Dowdy said.
