Hope for change
Dear Editor,
I spent the evening and part of the night in my house listening to the concert on July 15 at the amphitheater.
The bass guitar got so loud it was hard on the nerves – thump, thump, thump and so on. It was so loud it was rattling the window in the living room. We could not concentrate on the TV shows we were watching!
We went to bed at around 10 p.m. We were so keyed up we could not fall asleep until around 2 a.m.
We had called the police to see if something could be done about the noise. They said they could do nothing about the noise until around 11 p.m.
They said we may need to talk to the city council, which we did.
They told us they had to have it on the agenda at their choice – which sounds very dictatorial to us.
It looks like the Xtreme RV Park has a blank check to do whatever it wishes to do, whenever they want to do it.
Must be nice, with no consideration to the taxpaying, voting citizen on the East side of town.
Seems like the tax-paying, voting citizens have little power, or none, while Xtreme RV has all the power thanks to the city council. They have seen to that.
The businesses around the lake are more important than the tax-paying people on the East side of town.
This needs to be changed. It should be changed. We hope it can be changed without a lot of fussing and fighting.
