Q and A with Pastor J.

In the Old Testament an animal was killed in the hope that the shedding of its blood would make atonement for a person’s sin. This sacrifice points toward the ultimate sacrifice of Christ for our sin. Hebrews 9:22 –“ In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.”

We understand today that Christ died on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins and it is finished. There is no longer need for any blood sacrifice, because Jesus was the perfect sacrifice for our sin.

There is a larger question here – what will you do with what Jesus has done for you. Jesus died because he wanted every person to be freed from the penalty of their sin. He offers that forgiveness to anyone who will call upon His name and be saved.
