The bright lights of Hollywood didn’t phase the Pride of Eufaula band when the elite group of musicians performed recently at Universal Studios.
“The Pride of Eufaula represented their school and state in a very professional way and we couldn’t be any prouder of them,” said Band Director Rusty Helms. “This was a wonderful treat to finish up our winning season.”
The band was in Los Angeles from May 21-26 after being accepted to perform.
Helms said he submitted an application for the event several months ago.
Part of the application process included sending in past performance videos.
“They were accepted and put on an amazing show,” Helms said.
While in Los Angeles band members visited Santa Monica Pier, Knott’s Berry Farm, the Hollywood Walk of Stars and several other fun activities, including attending a Broadway show entitled “Six.”
“We are so thankful to have a community who supports us and a school who backs us all the way,” Helms said. “Thank you so much to all who made this trip a possibility! Thank you especially to our Eufaula School Board, Superintendent and Administration.”
