The Checotah Lady Wildcats (19-16) saw their season come to an end in the Class 5A Regional at Tecumseh. Heavener defeated Checotah 20-7 in the first game. The Lady Wolves (20-7) scored six runs in the second and third innings to rally from a 3-2 deficit.

Heavener scored early and often and with each hit fans could see the momentum turn away from Checotah.
“I wish we could have gotten to state for this group of seniors to experience. But I was blessed to have such an amazing group of girls. I am looking forward to our summer program and what next year has in store for us,” Checotah head coach Erin Bridges said.
Alexis Hamilton was perfect from the plate going 3-for-3. She drove in Checotah’s first run scored. Junior Kaitlyn Searles also had a single in the first inning.
In game two against Blanchard, The Lady Wildcats fell short 4-2. Checotah would not go away easily as each player with the exception of one recorded a hit. Maci Britt gave the Lady Wildcats a spark in the third inning when she connected on a pitch, driving in Checotah’s only runs.
