Patrons of the theater were treated to the antics of a drunken Santa, dancing elves, feuding Macy employees and a dangerously deranged Kris Kringle.
Somehow Kris Kringle, aka, Santa Claus, fulfilled one little girl’s wish of having a family.
This heartwarming classic brought joy to everyone who attended the performance.
“Miracle on 34th Street” showed that “Faith is believing in things when common sense tells you not to.”
Lake Eufaula Playhouse was able to bring this production to the lake community due in part to a grant received from the Oklahoma Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.
The Oklahoma Arts Council is the official state agency for the support and development of the arts. The agency’s mission is to lead in the advancement of Oklahoma’s thriving arts industry.
The Oklahoma Arts Council provides more than 400 grants to nearly 225 organizations in communities statewide each year, organizes professional development opportunities for the state’s arts and cultural industry and manages works of art in the Oklahoma Public Art Collection and the public spaces of the state Capitol.
Additional information is available at arts.ok.gov.
Lake Eufaula Playhouse would like to thank the generous support of the various businesses that contributed to this production and the success that Lake Eufaula Playhouse has enjoyed.
The Playhouse would also like to thank Eufaula Public Schools for allowing the playhouse to rent the high school auditorium.
The year 2020 looks to bring big changes for Lake Eufaula Playhouse.
LEP is looking for other venues to host upcoming performances. The ultimate goal of LEP will be to actively search for a permanent location to host all of LEP’s planned activities.
Our annual children’s summer theater camp has been a huge success every year. The camp averages approximately 65 kids, who experience the thrill of the theater along with a final performance of a musical.
LEP for the last few years has been able to hold this camp in conjunction with Whole Hawg Week.
LEP’s mission is to foster, promote and increase the public’s knowledge and appreciation of the arts and cultural activities through live theater and performing arts.
LEP would like to invite anyone who would like to help continue bringing theater to the community to attend our regular monthly board meetings.
LEP meets the second Sunday of every month at the Eufaula Public Library at 6 p.m.
If you know any open venues or have any suggestions, please feel free to reach out to Lake Eufaula Playhouse on Facebook, email at lakeeufaulaplayhouse@ gmail.com.
